Aloha State Games June 14th
The 2nd weekend of the Aloha State Games had fencers turning out in record numbers for both Sabre and Epee.
In Epee John-Rolf Oakley from Swordfigh Club continued his domination with a narrow win for the Gold over Hawaii Fencers Club Benjamin Leider. Tom McClintock and Lauren Chinn tied for 3rd.
Meanwhile in Saber, Oahu Fencing Center's Yervand Zakaryan took down Tom Delewski from Hawaii Fencers Club for the the Gold Medal while Thomas Miller and Timothy Scanson tied for 3rd.
Congratulations to Epee fencers John-Rolf Oakley and Lauren Chinn for re-earning their ratings and to Tom McClintock and Benjamin Leider for earning their C08's and to Eric Mueller for earning his E08. Congrat's to Saber fencers Yervand Zakaryan for earning his D08 and Timothy Scanson for earning his E08.
The games were closed with a rousing solo performance by Roland Pendleton and his bagpipes.

Aloha State Games June 7th
The first weekend of the Aloha State Games was a huge success as fencers turned out in record numbers.
Arthur Nemeth a visting fencer from Kentucy won the Y12 foil. Jared Schreiber from Salle Honolulu took the gold in Junior foil while Roland Pendelton from Hawaii Fencers Club took the gold in Junior Epee. For the main event it was John-Rolf Oakley from Swordfight Club over Jared Schreiber from Salle Honolulu in a closely contested hard fought gold medal round.
Congratulations to Jared Schreiber and Wayne Miyamoto for re-earning their D ratings. Also to Roland Pendleton for re-earning is E. And special congratualations to Riley Masunaga for earning his E. Way to go Riley.
